If you are taking an early flight from Gatwick, one of the easiest and least stressful options for getting there on time is to find a nearby hotel that also offers parking. It is a convenient option as you can arrive the night before your flight, park up your car, get a good night’s sleep and either walk or catch a shuttle to the airport. You can wake up fully refreshed with a Gatwick parking and hotel package and avoid the stress of getting up ridiculously early and being at the peril of train schedules and traffic delays.
There are plenty of Gatwick hotel and parking options available with something suitable for every budget. For ultra-convenience you can opt for one of the hotels attached directly to one of the airport terminals or for the budget conscious, consider parking at a hotel a few miles away and catching a shuttle in and out. With so many options available, you will have no trouble finding the option you are looking for, especially if you make sure to book in advance.
With our quick guide below, you can easily find a great accommodation and Gatwick parking deal.
When choosing your Gatwick hotel and parking package, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The most important of which, in terms of price, is whether the transfer from the hotel to the airport is included in the price. Some hotels that are a bit further away from airport do not provide their own transfers and you will need to catch a taxi instead. Other hotels have partnerships with off-site airport parking providers, such as Holiday Inn Express and APH Parking, with transfers included. This usually works out as the cheaper option and is much easier as you do not have the hassle of booking a taxi.
If you are primarily looking for convenience, then you will want to choose your hotel and parking Gatwick options based on the distance from your terminal. There are 4 hotels within the airport grounds within walking distance of the terminals. This includes the Hilton at the South Terminal and the Premier Inn, Sofitel and Hampton by Hilton at the North Terminal. From these hotels it is just a short walk to the terminal building and you can leave your car parked in their car park. It is also worth keeping in mind that there is a free monorail connecting both terminals that takes just 5 minutes. This allows you to stay and park at any of these conveniently located hotels and travel from either terminal.

Does the hotel have its own car park?
Most hotels at Gatwick offer parking within their own car parks, especially if they are off-site. Some hotels, however, particularly the ones at the terminals, such as the Hilton, offer parking through an off-site Gatwick Airport parking partner. Some customers also opt to use the parking facilities provided by the airport at an extra cost.
Will my car stay in the hotel car park the whole time I am away?
If the hotel offers parking within its own car park then your car will be kept in that car park until you return. It may be moved to for good management of the space during busy times and it may be moved to a nearby overflow car park. If the hotel has a partnership with an off-site parking provider, your vehicle will be kept at their secure compound for the duration of your trip and returned to the hotel car park when you return.
Is the hotel car park secure?
All the hotels mentioned above have security measures in place to ensure your vehicle is kept safe. This may include CCTV, regular patrols, gated entry and exit. If your vehicle is parked with an off-site provider while you are away, make sure that they have a Park Mark security accreditation. This award is recognised by the Police and means that the car park has excellent security facilities in place.
Can I keep my car key?
In most cases it is not possible to keep your car key when opting for a Gatwick hotel and parking service. The hotel or parking service needs to be able to move your car to manage the space, especially during busy periods. However, it will only be moved if strictly necessary and will not be driven long distances.
Will I need to arrange a transfer to the airport?
If you choose a hotel and parking offer a few miles from the airport, chances are you will need to arrange a separate transfer to and from the airport. This can usually be easily arranged at the hotel reception when you check-in and depending on the service can be a shuttle provided by the hotel or a taxi service. You will need to pay separately for these types of transfer as they are not included in the hotel and parking package.
